hello, this is rachel leber herself, writing to anyone reading, hopefully tyler himself will read this.
the gig that you have reviewed was a 45 minute set that was thrown together in a week's time, with barely any rehearsal time, with a bunch of people that weren't even officially a band. my friend asked me to play at this benefit, and i didn't want to do solo acoustic, so i asked these people to join me. i listened to this recording when i read your review, and i was bummed to think that this is the only impression you have of my singing, i do not consider it to be a proper representation of my voice, as well as the recording being very poor, not to mention the fact that we weren't trying to be original, we were trying to raise money for a women's shelter non-profit.

i invite you to visit my website at www.rachelleber.com and learn some more, and hear some tunes that are intended to be heard as good samples.

when my dj friend asked if he could post this show on this website, i thought 'that is a fun idea' and only imagined people i know here in boulder checking it out for fun. i never thought of people writing critical reviews from far away lands of LA.

i'm putting 5 stars not because i think the recording or show is that great, but to balance out the rating, so as not to deter folks from listening.

sincerely,
Rachel Leber

Subject: Fun oldies being sung
I had never heard of Rachel Leber before today, I just grabbed her name at random because she had streaming option on the one show she has on the archive. This is a fun sound. Lots of 'Oldies' in this set. If you are from Los Angeles, CA you might hear all these songs regularly on KRTH 101.1 FM. Her singing and the backup singers do a good job, but I wasn't that impressed with her voice and singing. The covers are fun, but it's not anything amazing in my mind. A standard oldies cover band at your local mountain bar in Boulder, CO.

Notes

Featuring Daniella Katzir and The Willis Trio.

Rachel's set was one of four in the "Night on Venus" benefit concert for KBFR (Boulder Free Radio). The first minute or so of "Right From The Heart" was lost due to a series of computer glitches.
